~ This Silken Ribbon

Recommended Posts

So sweetly soft and richly colored

this silken ribbon you bind me with.

Such gentle words and loving eyes,

I'm wrapped within this place

you have chosen for me.

I may struggle but I'm bound by love

as we are joined by breath and word.

So neither are free,

but both bound and wrapped around

by this sweetly soft and richly colored

silken ribbon binding.

Ok I'm forcing the other side of my brain to start working more so I'm putting more effort into understanding some of the wonderful poetry I see posted here.

Most the time I see everyone praising the pieces but I've been clueless to what the poems refer to.

I gonna say this one is speaking of a Hand fasting?

I do better with Dr. Zeuss :shy:

~ Don't know Fawzo, could be if that's what you see...

Just words, that's all.

Yes but they are words you used to display an emotional painting.

Since you were the emotionee what was the inspiration for the piece of artwork please before my my circuits short!

~ I'm sorry Fawzo! I didn't intend to distress you...

It's a multiple-choice piece. Most poetry is like that actually.

Whatever meaning you find in a poem or painting or sculpture, that's what it means.

Your meaning is all that's important when you read or see the work.

Did you enjoy it? The flow of the words, the imagery... that's generally what poetry is about.

Quite often there isn't a specific meaning, or perhaps many different ones.

I know, poetry can be confusing. But all that really matters is if you enjoy what you read or not.

I'm still irked at that docent at the Museum of Modern Art L.A. that presumed to explain what the artist meant!

How dare anyone come along & 'translate' another's vision? It was created to connect, not to be defined.

Personally, Picasso gives me gas. Monet, I adore.

That's why it's called 'art', it's open for interpretation by the one that enjoys it.
