  1. 1. Should we be allowed to intentionally harm ourselves?

    • Yes. We should be able to do whatever we want to our bodies. This would include smoking, drinking, drugs, suicide, etc.

  2. 2. Does the same still apply if that person is pregnant?

    • Yes. Even a pregnant woman should be able to do whatever she wants with her body. This would include smoking, drinking, drugs, suicide, etc

So...

...getting your child all those oh-so-necessary (!) shots before school...

...the booster shots...

...diabetics on insulin...

...girls and women (and boys and men) getting their ears pierced...

...all are intentionally harming themselves?

Risking infection...

...you mean like using public bathrooms? Handling money? Being out anywhere in public with other people around? Being pregnant and cleaning out the litterbox? That's all intentionally harming ourselves?

I'll stick with tats, thanks. :huh:

that's why I said technically.....Your Majesty, I probably have twice as many tats and piercings as you.....I'm addicted... :lol:;)

~ My husband has a beautiful rose on his shoulder.

Didn't start out so pretty tho'!

He passed-out on his 18th birthday & a pain-in-the-ass 'friend' tattooed a swastika. {Never saw him again!}

A few weeks later husband got busted for drunk-driving & was sentenced to jail... With a swastika? Nooo!

So, became a 'window pane'... {drugs go over better in jail than assinine racist crap}

When our daughter was born 6 years later he found a tattoo artist that was willing & could cover the ghastly.

Very nicely done, can't even see the stupid under it!

Now our daughter wants a matching rose.

{She already has a few...}

I'm constantly working at simplifying my life as much as possible.

If it weren't for the Net, I might just decide to get off the grid.

It sticks to my butt something awful. :blink:

I'm the same way. I did a short hermitage-thingy when I was younger but now being a hubby and daddy make that a bit more difficult. If I ever find myself alone again its back to the woods.

Well, I'm a daddy, but the kids are with the reason I'm no longer a hubby. ^_^

But for a city boy, the woods are a constant challenge...

Should We Be Allowed To Intentionally Harm Ourselves?

~ Just had a thought about the original topic, sorry to interrupt...

If humans weren't allowed to intentionally harm themselves with poor choices, how would they learn & mature?

Poor love choice {heart-ache! Do better next time} drinking too much {hang-over! Do better next time}

bankruptcy {you're screwed! Do better next time} car accident {you're owied! Do better next time!}

... Well, could go on & on & on, humans are creative critters & often need to repeat lessons,

but if they weren't allowed to harm themselves...

We'd all have to live in padded rooms. Being fed People Chow. Exercised regularly on a gerbil wheel.

{& let's face it, most humans would not make good pets.}

... I know, I barged in & babbled. Continue on! :drinks:
