  1. Has anybody here done (any kind of) service at hospital and have people request prayers? Have you given them prayer request cards to fill out & return to you? I am just asking.... Thanks.
  2. My Dear 20 Million Brothers and Sisters, I and many other ULC ministers like me live in a country that possesses no Bill Of Rights. In fact, it is the only Westernised Country in the world that does not have one. That country is Australia. America for example, has: "The Bill of Rights is the collective name for the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution." (source: Wikipedia)". Freedom is precious and the freedom of my speech is not protected here." I am a ULC Minister, unjustly accused a year ago of a crime I did not commit. I won't go into details here. (This is not the place.) Although witnesses were present and disagree with the "victim", My word as a ULC Minister it seems means nothing in Australia. Because of this, I have been unable to perform my Ministerial duties to those in need of them and my health is failing although my love for God will never wane. I believe we exist to help those who need it and I ask for your prayers for the strength to face whatever may come soon.BUT:I am, like my other Brothers and Sisters in the Ministry passionate about my beliefs and when I go into court, I will wear my ULC Clergy tag and my crucifix with the Lord pinned to it around my neck. I have been told NOT to wear it! I would rather go to prison for refusing to take my faith off! I feel humbled to have 20 million brothers and sisters in my family. When you feel you have a moment, please send a short prayer to me to give me the strength and health to face my coming ordeal. Please forgive me, I hope I haven't offended anyone and I sincerely hope I have complied with ULC moderator parameters. Go with God.
  3. This post is about the Master of Chaplaincy Lesson #16 on "The Soul-Friend." Life provides us many opportunities to help us help others, sometimes stretching beyond what we sometimes think is possible. The following is a post that I put on my website 2 days ago, but is pertinent for this lesson. Jesus operated without a church. Yes, he taught in the Temple, but he also taught wherever people were. Taking this example, I was asked by my friend, who has since died, if I could give her dying sister energy work and counseling sessions. I went to the sister's house for her sessions, when she could no long come to my office. She knew she was dying of cancer, yet this woman remains one of the most positive, emotionally and spiritually stable people I have ever met. She asked for reflexology. I looked up at her angelic face, which radiated with a beautiful smile. One day my friend called me and told me her sister was calling everyone she wanted to say good-bye to, and asked me if I could come to her sister one last time. I should mention I never went out to house calls in my professional work. But this case was different. On this day, I showed up for the last reflexology session, greeted by her incredible smile of joy. At the end of the reflexology session, she looked so peaceful and was grateful I had come. I didn't want to leave the room, feeling like if I didn't leave the room, she would not die. We talked, but finally I had to leave. She said, "Good bye," smiling and at peace. I edged out of the room, graced by that beautiful smile of hers. What could make her so positive, so joyous, so at peace at a time like this? Her belief in a loving God and the eternal promises of the after life impressed upon my heart. The next thing I knew my friend who had ignored her own health, had cancer. I would drive the two and one-half hours one way to pick her up and bring her to my house for the weekend, after I had retired from work, giving her a break. I treasured these visits. In the end, I got a call from her family, asking me to come down so she could say good-bye to me too. A smile also graced her lips. The common thread between my friend and her sister were the incredible lives they lived, which included much struggle and strife, more than many other lives I have witnessed, even to this day. How they overcame such odds against them, while retaining their serenity and peace, is a tremendous lesson in love, on a life well lived, and an indelible model of integrity when at the end of life. Jesus operated without a church. That is what I am doing. This lesson asked if anyone had reached out to us as a soul-friend. Both of these women I mention sought me not just for human friendship and fun. They were seeking a God connection, a prayer connection and a healing connection. These women had a great love for each other, but they also had a beautiful belief in life after death, in a God who loves them. I felt honored to help these women in this way.
  4. Hey Folks, I know I've been a bit "hit and miss" around here over the past month but once again my mother has been hospitalized with her heart issues. She's been in and out of Memorial North several times this past year and just returned home again a few days ago. At 91 she has repeatedly said she's "ready to go home to the Lord" as her Evangelical faith has been paramount in her life. Mom took a turn for the worse by having a "small stroke" last weekend and has returned to the hospital. I hate to be a pessimist but something tells me this may be the final round. She has seemingly aged an additional ten years just in the past fews days since I last saw her. My sister, who suffers from her own myriad of health issues dotes on Mom 24/7 and has been a literal "God send" to Mom for the past 10 years (30 including prior to health issues) and therefore I need to ask for prayers and energy in her direction as well. Alice, a.k.a. "Mom" and Jean, a.k.a. "Sis" both believe strongly in the power of prayer and both have several testimonies of their own regarding this topic. I'm sure they would both receive the windfall of positive thought, prayer, energy graciously. And in closing, my darling wife Kay was notified last week that her biological father's wife of 50+ years passed from conditions revolving around Alzheimer's. Ruth and Kay weren't especially close, but she does grieve for her father's loss. A bit of healing of the heart energy for both Kay and Wes would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you all tremendously, Blessings of Peace, Al
