  1. Because we have free will--and a very highly untamed ego which disconnects us from --well for me it is called God--for others maybe called reason--to you, well you only know. blessings, Suzanne
  2. --ah, but sometimes covers do reveal how interesting the book maybe and we become very curious , not judgmental. Well, I anyway! To me judging by the cover is rather a shallow approach--as with oysters, some of the least expected ones have the greatest of pearls peace, S
  3. --True,many have a lot of revelation about themselves on their introduction page!!!!! I did too, I will later--I have to admit I was angry, and took it all off some days back. peace. S Yes, yes, yes--you are right,--but a picture speaks more than a thousand words though in conjunction with the written words. I was not implying that it is only the picture, that is but a small part. It just makes it a bit more personal. blessings and peace, S
  4. Now--this is really off topic here: Some while ago, I can`t remember who asked a question from whom in the hot-seat--`are you the same in real life than on line`. I thought that to be very profound. If we are genuine, honest about our feelings, responses then why be it in secret--or if we are a then we are being dishonest, ashamed to be where we are--in this forum or wherever-- with ourselves and others. That is why yesterday I asked about the `photo` question--very few in the area that Dorian Gray suggested, but some. Most--like myself have a face book page--and most can access it. Secrets that we do not want to reveal we don`t anyway--we all have skeletons in the cupboard--that`s life. Yes--Nestingwave dosn`t have one here, but he has a lovely one on his blog site--so why can`t everyone here put one up. We are what we are--good, bad, ugly--very few are beautiful but that is always in the eye of the beholder In truth---this is the only forum where they don`t know who I am. I have always had my own name and stood up for anything I said during daylight not only at night--I know the world is a dangerous place, especially the internet, but one dosn`t have to reveal all. It is dangerous to walk down the street, to cross the road or sit into the car. I sure as hell will not send a dime to the Nigerian princess who needs to get her billion $ out of Nigeria promising me 10%-- Today--if someone wants to find one they can anyway--for $10 all you want--that is if you are an upstanding citizen, otherwise no one can ever find you, but then you woudn`t have a computer either--and would be be here! Don`t get me wrong--I don`t mean post an address, phone number and all the details of life--that would be very unwise--but the bare minimum.! Maybe I am just strange--just my humble observation. Hh--just one more --if I am ashamed of being here, then why am I here?-- blessings, S......Suzanne
  5. I did say``different religions`` seems to encompass all I would think--it wasn`t simply Mormonism discussed on this board, but a few others, however that is neither here nor there. When one looks at history--99% (not an exact # Yes I could google it!) of all were were due to religion--some say--ban religion entirely. Most counties have a separation of state and church, but even that dosn`t work--this is an impossible situation because the human soul yearns , or want to feel that they are simply not a heap of clay and that there maybe some higher reason for our existence--we have an innate need to know that we to feel that have a reason of being. True or not, all of us one day will find out -- and this is why there are only a handful of atheists, for even they have a need --looked, looked especially scientifically and could not find, their reason is --thus there is no evidence--there is no god. Hey--they maybe entirely correct!--their truth. But--there is no need to fight over it--as Blades put it--whether he sad it in Elizabethan English, Spanglish or some slang. Ignorance creates fear and numerous other hostile emotions within us. Why?-- should we be only discussing topics of ``hate, intolerance, terrorism, oppression, and dysfunction`` here and google the rest? Why then discuss anything here?- we can google anything, one dosn`t even have to go to the library anymore--but we discuss it to perhaps come to a clearer idea of `that which we may perceive as truth`--because as once a dear friends told me`` When I was young books were my friends, now I have learnt that many of them lie``. And--``I mean, wouldn't some OTHER religion in the world be MORE of a concern for you to "learn and understand" for peace in the world???`` --yes I agree with you, and I do that also, would others do the same on both sides for by ``all`` I mean all of humanity--on every side of the fence!!--then we probably would be in less of a mess. I often have to remind myself that I cannot change anyone`s out look, behaviour, feelings but my own!--if we all did that maybe we would feel different about many things.--which wolf do I feed? Cherokee legend- An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." blessings and peace, S
  6. This kinda fits here, for to me it is philosophy and purpose for my existence. At my convocation, eons ago--I recited this poem to my fellow graduates--It has been a meaningful compendium of advice, thus now I share it with you. Though I wasn`t as good as Hopper, but close --joke!--and I do love poetry. blessings, peace and never lose your head!--even IF..... S
  7. Cute--the dancing even better, and those legs--and I am no man were I--she would be my pick!-- But here is a song of old--I was introduced to when I was 25 by a special person that taught me all about what matters really in life--many things, one being; What matter often the most is what is between your ears, and the other that the body is merely a vehicle to cart our soul around,--well what can I say I grew up in a convent, and what did I know. So--off went the clothes on with the lights... -- what does it matter he said is not how one looks, but how we function, feel and act--and more. But this song is truly great!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ5MxSmOdOQ blessings +Bp Corey, S
  8. This is the point Blades,--right on-- they--the philosophers think they know it all, meantime, no one knows anything, except their version which is in a language that a few can read, even less can understand--well some make sense, but few.....for me!!! Please, before I get beheaded!Yes--we all get threatened and aggressive about our --so called `right way`--where all is right for we no nothing. You--are truly the wisest of men, I mean it with all sincerety--!! It is always what is in the heart that counts--not philosophers, religion or gnosis- or grammar or whatever--but for maybe but a few, it is totally absent. There are some, but far few!!! You see-- one cannot even understand the question most times-- never mind the answer One cannot learn `heart and souls `at university--but maybe in a rural Indian village. blessings, S
  9. Friedrich Nietzsche (1874) from Schopenhauer as Teacher The Challenge of Every Great Philosophy Source: Schopenhauer as Teacher, from Existentialism from Dostoyevsky to Sartre edited by Walter Kaufman. short excerpt. A traveller who had seen many countries and peoples and several continents was asked what human traits he had found everywhere; and he answered: men are inclined to laziness. Some will feel that he might have said with greater justice: they are all timorous. They hide behind customs and opinions. At bottom, every human being knows very well that he is in this world just once, as something unique, and that no accident, however strange, will throw together a second time into a unity such a curious and diffuse plurality: he knows it, but hides it like a bad conscience why? From fear of his neighbour who insists on convention and veils himself with it. But what is it that compels the individual human being to fear his neighbour, to think and act herd-fashion, and not to be glad of himself? A sense of shame, perhaps, in a few rare cases. In the vast majority it is the desire for comfort, inertia - in short, that inclination to laziness of which the traveller spoke. He is right: men are even lazier than they are timorous, and what they fear most is the troubles with which any unconditional honesty and nudity would burden them. Only artists hate this slovenly life in borrowed manners and loosely fitting opinions and unveil the secret, everybody's bad conscience, the principle that every human being is a unique wonder; they dare to show us the human being as he is, down to the last muscle, himself and himself alone even more, that in this rigorous consistency of his uniqueness he is beautiful and worth contemplating, as novel and incredible as every work of nature, and by no means dull. As soon as Kant would begin to exert a popular influence, we should find it reflected in the form of a gnawing and crumbling scepticism and relativism; and only among the most active and noble spirits, who have never been able to endure doubt, you would find in its place that upheaval and despair of all truth which Heinrich von Kleist, for example, experienced as an effect of Kant's philosophy. "Not long ago," he once writes in his moving manner, "I became acquainted with Kant's philosophy; and now I must tell you of a thought in it, inasmuch as I cannot fear that it will upset you as profoundly and painfully as me. We cannot decide whether that which we call truth is really truth or whether it merely appears that way to us. If the latter is right, then the truth we gather here comes to nothing after our death; and every aspiration to acquire a possession which will follow us even into the grave is futile. If the point of this idea does not penetrate your heart, do not smile at another human being who feels wounded by it in his holiest depths. My only, my highest aim has sunk, and I have none left." When will human beings again have the natural feelings of a Kleist? When will they learn again to measure the meaning of a philosophy by their "holiest depths"? This, however, is necessary to estimate what, after Kant, Schopenhauer might mean to us. He can be the guide to lead us out of the cave of sceptical irritation or critical resignation up to the height of a tragic view, with the starry nocturnal sky stretching endlessly over us; and he was the first to lead himself this way. His greatness was that he confronted the image of life as a whole in order to interpret it as a whole, while the subtlest minds cannot be freed from the error that one can come closer to such an interpretation if one examines painstakingly the colours with which this image has been painted and the material underneath. . . . The whole future of all the sciences is staked on an attempt to understand this canvas and these colours, but not the image. It could be said that only a man who has a firm grasp of the over-all picture of life and existence can use the individual science without harming himself; for without such a regulative total image they are strings that reach no end anywhere and merely make our lives still more confused and labyrinthine. In this, as I have said, lies Schopenhauer's greatness: that he pursues this image as Hamlet pursues the ghost, without permitting himself to be distracted, as the scholars do, and without letting himself be caught in the webs of a conceptual scholasticism, as happens to the unrestrained dialectician. The study of all quarter-philosophers is attractive only insofar as we see how they immediately make for those spots in the edifice of a great philosophy where the scholarly pro and con, and reflection, doubt, and contradiction are permitted; and thus they avoid the challenge of every great philosophy which, when taken as a whole, always says only: this is the image of all life, and from this learn the meaning of your life! And conversely: Read only your own life, and from this understand the hieroglyphs of universal life! This is how Schopenhauer's philosophy, too, should always be interpreted first of all: individually, by the single human being alone for himself, to gain some insight into his own misery and need, into his own limitation. . . He teaches us to distinguish between real and apparent promotions of human happiness: how neither riches, nor honours, nor scholarship can raise the individual out of his discouragement over the worthlessness of his existence, and how the striving for these goals can receive meaning only from a high and transfiguring over-all aim: to gain power to help nature and to correct a little its follies and blunders. To begin with, for oneself; but eventually through oneself for all. That is, to be sure, an aspiration which leads us profoundly and heartily to resignation: for what, and how much, can after all be improved in the individual or in general? . . . http://www.marxists....4/challenge.htm The red is my highlights! Though I have to admit, I am a little fond of Schopenhauer. But-- now--this is why I am not a philosopher--and if i would be one. No wonder I was miserable during philosophy classes and my philosopher `other self`...is in continual depression mode. I will stay with plain old religion--thank you. blessings, S
  10. Yep you are right on--this is in the catechism exactly just made official!--at different times by the councils. If you read the Vatican site I posted . blessings and peace, S
  11. They are absolutely correct correct !! --as you know all you need is go from left to right--I get post a few more--I was good with it as a child--in school , I am very rusty and have to check each one. Go to ` magyar rovas iras` and go to images--you will find them there. You don`t have to speak Magyar--though it is only for Magyar language--there is even a site. Thus--what I wrote, like my name--and my signature you can check --but start with . On my home page ther is my name Zsuzsanna in runic script--also correct! There is a site that will convert anything into Magyar runes--if you want--I will send it. The problem is it will work for names as for all else will need to be in Magyar! Istenünk= from left to right! and so forth. I can`t post more--won`t allow it. starting with and going to the left, if there is an other line then you go from right to left and so on--alternating as you read it. Also there has to be a dot betweeh each word, which I didn`t do. This is Alan= ....you can write anything you want and will come out in Magyar runes. http://kaszazsolt.hu/magyar.php#runa PS--jobbrol balra means from left to right. Balrol jobra means from right to left, this you need if they are long sentences or paragraphs--as then you have to reveres each line as you read it.----all you need is write in what you want and out it comes! Though some letters it will not understand--but try simple things and check it if it is right--Hungarian alphabet has more double letters and other stuff.! You may send even English messages--Cimzet means --to whom....felado means who sens it ie your email...kuldes means send! You can work out the alphabet yourself.--some letters you can`t use as they don`t exist in English. It is fun though. http://www.rovas.hu/ This too may interest you http://users.cwnet.c...lenia/myths.htm The channeling has nothing to do with anything--it just reminded me of things. Yes--I do channel, but I presume it is my `higher self`--or who knows. Not many know, for I don want to be known by my patients a `an idiot`. But I did very much agree and like your explanation of `existence`! Blessings and espavo, S I have to post it in two sections--it won`t allow it all!...and can`t do it even this wayeither. --and my signature has nothing to do with Tuder nor Thor at all!! Tündér is ` a fairy` from Magyar mythology and stories--some say Kelta(Celtic or Scythian or in recent research mesopotamian/actually Sumerian goddess of heaven, and sea , that is what my father calls me...LOL--but I will not get into this fire as I have had with H. You can look into the origin of the language of the Magyars if you wish---it is the biggest thing at all universities in Hungary and amongst all Magyar archaeologist and other such ancient explorers of the Magyars and the language.WE have nothing to do with the Finn-Ugor connection we know almost 99.99999% now. --there are called Sumerologists --at all universities trying to find the answers, and hav so much recently. blessings, S PS-- I don`t dare edit--FORDIT means TRANSLATE!--- http://kaszazsolt.hu/magyar.php#runa peace and blessings, S
  12. True, you are right!!--but to a certain point--but have you considered that sometimes one can express their views in a more tame fashion. This has nothing to do with being right or wrong, for I don`t think that the purpose here is to convert anyone to their way of thinking, but just listening and saying one`s piece in peace. I doubt if we were even remotely close to being demi-saints we would not be around here any more then--I mean in this life. So, I am presuming--as a quote from Illusions--By Richard Bach. `Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished; If you are alive it isn`t`. Thus we all are, thus it isn`t finished.. Life sucks big time more so than not--so not much only a moment here or there may at times be wonderful and blissful. It would be wrong to walk on eggshells, but have you considered ostrich egg shells Really--on the more serious side , meaningful conversations , debates have numerous sides--but we do not need swords and daggers to demonstrate our points, so I hope. --all those philosophers ddidn`t, thou one did drink hemlock `Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself, being true to anyone else is not only impossible , but the mark of a fake messiah(this figuratively speaking). peace, S
  13. Perhaps Dan--as I have transformed to someone else--we go though many transformations, transmutations, metamorphoses -like a caterpillar to a butterfly. I changed my forum name, my avatar, my outlook, all of which is far more positive--for some weird reason Nestingwave`s post seems to haunt me--the first one . I would love to say much more to you Hyper --I already have, tried, but you may interpret it the wrong way--so I shall zip it up! Though I am by no means a `lightworker`--truth or fiction I am still inspired by the story of `Etu and Amor` and more so the word it embodies. I think this is the story that Nestingwave made me `re-member` which for a while I have forgotten--I hope some of you will listen to the audio. http://lightworker.c...cles/espavo.php Espavo, S
  14. I truly always believe there is a reason for everything--God works in mysterious ways. I think for some--including myself It has been an important lesson what transpired here. I certainly won`t list them all--but certainly many . blessings and peace, S

  16. One of Freddie`s great songs--what a loss. I love his music--how sad to have lost him far too soon. My favourites are`Bohemian Rhapsody` and `Somebody to Love`. Thanks for the reminder of this great artist +Bp Corey! peace, S
  17. Heartfelt prayers for all the victims and their families on this sad day. It is the one`s left behind who have to cope with the pain and suffering of this horrendous event, knowing far too well how innocent their loved ones were. May such terrible thing never happen to any nation, and may the world one day have peace. blessings, prayers and peace, Suzanne
  18. Yes we all do , for we all keep changing--I found Nestingwave`s post very meaningful to me, and has said all that I think or now am reminded of.--I am sure he will not mind if I re-post it here--I think this message is not only for Hyper--for most of us are constantly in hypertension, stress mode,--and I do mean the condition! **There is no need to be so miserably unhappy with yourself Hyper Tension. Change is the very nature of the Universe and it will happen again -- and again -- and again as long as you draw breath -- and beyond. Yep -- its an endemic part of the growing up process. The only thing which continually remains is -- CHANGE -- nickels -- dimes -- quarter -- and every once in a while -- a GOLDEN EAGLE. HELL is just the same old same old same old over and over again -- which seems like an eternity of being bored to death. Evil = human suffering -- but -- it can be seen from the perspective of acting as a CATALYST to stimulate you to seek seek seek and seek the better way of inner peace, the joy of unbounded creativity and the love of your "self" -- your true "self" which is so vast that it is inclusive of all other beings. If you seek with your whole being -- your entire being -- heart -- body -- mind -- spirit -- and soul -- you will find -- even more than you ever dreamed of. Enlightenment? Call it whatever -- but it is a never ending story. This is no "theory" but my own personal experience -- as well as the personal experience of many others throughout all the ages of time and space. Take it -- grok it -- leave it -- hate it -- shred it -- or wipe your butt with it -- as always entirely YOUR choice. But -- remember this -- for every action there is an equal and opposite re-action -- and that's the way Universal justice operates. You see -- everything which you encounter is a mirror reflecting yourself right back to you. Test it -- and you will discover something new -- and -- possibly a new appreciation and humility that goes right along with the new territory. The key word is "new." And -- behold -- all things have become new. Exciting huh? *** Thanks Rob! blessings and peace, S
  19. Perfect--great to see you! Why? Well we don`t pray to her,--by saying `Hail Mary`--is simply the angelic salutation of Gabriel. We just ask here to pray for `us sinners` to the Father!--You see maybe we just think she has more clout with the Father of Her son, an advocate --maybe we want more bases covered --but of course we pray to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit--the Holy Trinity. Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. or Pray for us , O Holy Mother of God That we maybe made worthy of the promises of Christ. or as Mary instructed at Fatima O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. So--neither did she ever ask ask us to pray to her, but to God. This is the end of this thread for me on Catholicism!! blessings and peace, S

You transform all who are touched by you. Mundane concerns, troubles, and sorrows dissolve in your presence, Bringing joy to ruler and ruled To peasant and King. You bewilder us with your grace. All evils transform into goodness. You are the master alchemist. You light the fire of love in earth and sky in heart and soul of every being. Through your loving existence and nonexistence merge. All opposites unite. All that is profane becomes sacred again. Mevlana Rumi
  21. I have read a channeling today--that was rather enlightening to me. I am sure may think channeling is a farce, or some may think there maybe something to it, however that is not the point of my question. It is actually --not a religious one, though it maybe--but it can is rather more of a philosophical one... Yes--I know the universe is unfolding as it should--a rather a flowery, corny hippy term, but in reality there is much truth to it --neither philosophy, science nor religion really has the answer--as to date none of us has caught our God/Gods/ or whomever in the act 1. Why are we actually here and what is it exactly apart from the biochemical and other components that we are? 2. What is the point and purpose of existence? --this is for all believers, and non believers inclusive? 3. If we presume --as some, that there is no afterlife, then why are we (most) clinging to life? If we go with that theory is it not easier and better to end it sooner or later? 4. Why have children--simply to perpetuate the cycle of suffering??--if we presume that is no God, no spirituality, no faith as Hyper surmises--which maybe correct, non of us can prove the `pro or contra` for it is simply personal experience of experiencing the divine. 5. Why are we killing each other, the planet and all of creation deliberately? Thee are a few points to consider here--but really one; EXISTENCE. Well--that`s is folks--maybe I shall learn something from you wise people--and this is truly not a sarcastic remark!! I do believe we all have much to contribute to some sense of understanding of spirit. Many here have it as it is an individual thing--but one may get that `ah-ah` moment when perhaps hearing an other view. blessings and peace, S
  22. I am sorry that this is the way you understood it to be--that is was not my intention at all.And I don`t equate faith with religion but `spirituality` I have no other word for it, maybe you do. Man--always has faith, dosn`t mean it has to be ``God``.Why cannot there be any room for rational thought beside ``God``--or whatever? I don`t think it has to be neither or --it can be both--actually is. No? If one loves nature, appreciates beauty, cares for a loved one, has an awe for the birth of their child, --what is that. What is love , pain, joy, sadness--where does that come from?--from emptiness? peace, S
  23. Hyper, please Don`t twist my words, I never said that or implied that about you-- nor do I think that of you. I respect your belief system--if you read my post I said `--you see Hyper the seed of faith is in each human soul, but the soil that germinates it is different in each one of us--for many it is religion for others it is something else. Unless we have faith we are simply empty vessels. You have as well, you may just call it something else,`--this is what I said. peace, S
  24. I cannot express the sorrow in my heart enough about losing your beautiful son! I don`t understand rap much, but what I did is very clear to me is that he had great love within him. blessings and love, S
