  1. http://forum.ulc.net/ So.... Here's the gist of these readings..... If one accepts the readings as accurate.... The Sleeping Prophet of Virginia Beach was the most recent reincarnation of an individual that once ruled over the ancient Egyptians. As Ra-Ta, he over-saw the initiation of "improvements" and adaptations to physically deformed pre- or sub- human beings, in an effort to create (or recreate) beings more receptive and "in-tuned" with God. That's how I read it... How about you?
  2. Thanks for the link! I just went to their page and read for over an hour... placed their site in my favorites. Thanks again!
  3. I have to say, I admire your initiative.... but.... unless you have previous management experience or have existing contacts in the music industry... You have your work cut out for you.... I'd also advise you to examine your motives.... Are you in it to make "music" or "money"? And always remember.... "There is no music in the money business."
  4. This is also my understanding of our relationship with God and am thankful for the limitless opportunities to share in His creation.
  5. I was certain that my wife was going deaf, so one afternoon, I decided to test her hearing. When I got home, she was reading a book. From the door, I asked her what we were having for dinner. I got no reply. I took 4 steps across the kitchen and repeated my query..... No reply. I took another 4 steps toward her and asked again.... No reply. I took another 2 steps, and standing right next to her, asked again..... "What's for dinner?" She looked up from her book and said, "For the fourth time, Chicken!"
  6. The system was designed to assist those unable to provide for themselves, not provide for those too LAZY to do so... Assassin, your claim to be able to afford what I consider a LUXERY (Ipads for you and your wife) puts the lie to your lament that you were denied assistance in your hour of need... You don't need more money for you and your family to survive, you need to learn to put the funds you do have to better use.... .
  7. I'd say it's a weapon.... There have been countless comedians that used humor to address controversial topics in an effort to effect change.
  8. Given my experience, I ought to be able to offer some help here... but cannot think of any words of advice that I think will help. As a parent of son that died of an overdose, I can tell you from personal experience that there is absolutely nothing that you can say to the parent that will be a comfort to her or that will ease her anxiety. Nor will you be able to reassure her that she is not THE reason for his present condition. I can only recommend prayer... and suggest that you prepare for the day you'll be needed to comfort her over his passing....
  9. I was lucky.... I was blessed to have been raised by possibly the 2 best parents that ever walked the Earth. Both were intelligent and sober. Both were socially active and involved in numerous civic, religious, and fraternal organizations. Both were dedicated to providing their kids with a financially and emotionally stable environment. Both insisted that their kids develop their minds and bodies to their fullest potential. They also took active roles in our social lives. Both strived to insure that we all had the mental, emotional, and social abilities to survive as adults. All of us were given the opportunity to receive professional instruction on a musical instrument. We were all encouraged to participate in organized sports. We were all required to diligently apply ourselves in our educational pursuits. We were taught to respect our elders and all those in positions of authority. We were instructed in, and expected to practice, the social courtesies. We were always supported in every endeavor. They also believed in addressing inappropriate action or behavior with swift, sure, and proportional correction. These days, corporal punishment may be called abuse, but speaking from experience, it IS an effective deterrent to delinquency. I was lucky..... I had parents that cared to correct me.
  10. If you want to ignore facts and continue to live in the fantasy world you've created... All I can say is "ignorance is bliss".
  11. WRONG! Some may say that the war was over "state's rights", but it was specifically about the state's right to decide the issue of slavery. Please peruse the following paragraph... "We affirm that these ends for which this Government was instituted have been defeated, and the Government itself has been made destructive of them by the action of the non-slaveholding States. Those States have assume the right of deciding upon the propriety of our domestic institutions; and have denied the rights of property established in fifteen of the States and recognized by the Constitution; they have denounced as sinful the institution of slavery; they have permitted open establishment among them of societies, whose avowed object is to disturb the peace and to eloign the property of the citizens of other States. They have encouraged and assisted thousands of our slaves to leave their homes; and those who remain, have been incited by emissaries, books and pictures to servile insurrection." 12. I was sitting here contemplating my many faults... Which is my worst? My temper.... I have no tolerance for incompetence and will not endure discourtesy.
  13. If I may.... My God gave me the gift of being able to use words like an artist uses paint. Sometimes they flow effortlessly across the page and produce portraits worthy of a Rembrandt or da Vinci.... Sometimes the words come out so jumbled that even Picasso wouldn't be able to comprehend the composition.... Sometimes my words come out so stilted and stiff that they appear as simple as stick-figures... My best words I share... the others I keep to myself. (BTW- It took me an hour to get these words right.)
  14. I was disappointed in The Hobbit... I liked The Lord of the Rings and understood the necessity of splitting it up into 3 movies (One movie for each of the 3 books), but splitting The Hobbit into 3 movies is ridiculous (and GREEDY). I won't pay to see the rest of the series. Maybe when they put them all on Netflix... but definitely won't spend the $20 I paid to watch the 1st episode.
  15. Wow.... My prayers will include your brother and his family.
  16. Lordie, it's 70 times x 70 times.... in other words- you forgive forever! Forgiveness is (in my opinion) the most important of Jesus' messages to Man. Without forgiveness, you are tied to the individual until they atone for their offense against you. The Law of Forgiveness is the only thing that can negate the Law of Karma.
  17. After reading Clerics comments... it amazes me how anyone could take pride in being a burden on society.... yet another case of how the programs instituted to help the needy have been abused by the greedy. Disgusting.
  18. The Writers Digest offers a lot of the information you seek. Your school library should have a copy in their reference section. Good luck with your group!
  19. In a televised interview back in the 70s, the Rev. Hensley of the ULC stated that he issued ordinations to anybody and everybody in order to combat the IRS' discriminatory practice of granting tax-exempt status to some churches and denying it to others (specifically the ULC). "Religion" had nothing to do with it. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/jesus-saves-become-a-minister-save-on-taxes/
  20. I did not read every post in this thread so it may have been stated before.... The greatest achievement of modern man is our leaving this sphere and beginning the exploration of space.
  21. There was a bit on TV yesterday about kids crushing Smarties and snorting them.... I can't see where it could give them anything but a sugar rush and a nose bleed, but then again... who knows?
  22. The word "god" is entirely different from the word "God"... The former refers to a being that Man created and endowed with supernatural traits and abilities, the latter is The Being that created Man.
