But thanks for the cognitive stimulation. It's a grokkin' shapeshifter!namaste
a linguistic doppelganger perhaps.....

A scientist I know likes to use the word "gnose" instead of "grok." Your gnose knows yer grok. Like ---"The Hopi Grok Rock."

How are vibrations checked?
that, my friend, is a very good question...
I have a certain ability to see the energy patterns of people and things.... even with that ability, there is no way for me to see a person's spiritual state, unless it is woefully inadequate, or considerably more refined than my own...
I honestly have no idea how to answer that question. The only thing I can share from personal experience is this: I played with OOBE's for quite a while before i realized that i was, basically, daydreaming... There came a point when i was approached... by my own guides... and asked whether i was finished playing and ready to get to work..... In a reality where everything is energy - theres no excuse for not accomplishing something at all times..... and things changed drastically... from " above " the Astral is much more understandable....
Please don't take this to mean that i think I am more advanced or anything... we are on our own course and It is my time to know these things... a decision that was made before i incarnated this time... a DECISION - not a special badge or something... I deserve no credit...... it's just where i am at this time....

The Oxford English Dictionary defines grok as "to understand intuitively or by empathy; to establish rapport with" and "to empathize or communicate sympathetically (with); also, to experience enjoyment." Other forms of the word include "groks" (present third person singular), "grokked" (past participle) and "grokking" (present participle).
In an ideological context, a grokked concept becomes part of the person who contributes to its evolution by improving the doctrine, perpetuating the myth, espousing the belief, adding detail to the social plan, refining the idea or proofing the theory.
ok.... im done being hard-headed......

What do you understand to be some of the reasons?
Simply being in the Astral without a spiritual understand of exactly what the astral IS..... THAT i would say, is the most dangerous aspect..... could lead to a very great misunderstanding....
folks think that when they leave their body ( with no definite positive intention ) they are in " Heaven " or something.... not even close... The Astral is the unfinished creations that have accumulated since men have been incarnating on this planet.... It is a tricky, messy, place.... one needs a spiritual understanding to even successfully navigate this place.... one could find themselves mired in a set of circumstances that is no more " real " than a dream.... and they would fully believe it, for they've seen it with their own eyes.... they just don't realize it's no more " true " than a bit of random dream they have stumbled across....
I have said, in other threads, that individuals vibrate at a rate which is appropriate for them.... this level of vibration must be of a certain height to even have a chance of escaping the Astral.....
Spiritual Studies Must come first for any useful experience... USEFUL experience.......

You might want to stay out of the building... If your drained from resisting being possessed, I'd say your out-matched.

Since we astral project everyday when we are asleep, astral projection must be a very safe and natural activity. However, I have read a few articles on the subject that speak about the dangers of astral projection, such as the possibility of encountering negative entities or having your Silver Cord severed. Do you feel that astral projection is dangerous? Or do you think it is safe and one need not worry about one's safety?
It's something we do almost daily... some daily... the cord cannot be severed... not a worry...
Yes, it is potentially dangerous, for a great many reasons....

Last night I was attacked by a demon while cleansing a building. Please send energy to me. The demon tried to posses me and now I am very draind from fighting.
There is no entity that can withstand Michael and His Legions.... the time old beseeching call is " Michael, Michael, Michael.... Help Me Now, Please I Need Your Aid." Say this aloud in your moment of need and know you will be assisted... See if that works for you my friend... ( know that it will... )

As to the word I used---"GROCK" I thought perhaps I should clarify its meaning since it is not a commonly used term.
Look at definition #1 and #2. This is my meaning.
namaste
I assumed it was from Heinlein..... 1961... stranger in a strange land ... the original term perhaps ? ......
( of course i understood your usage nesty, as well spoken as always...)
Definition number three seems diametrically oppsed to the first two definitions. What about that "stoned" part?
that would be a reference to stranger in a strange land too, wouldn't you think??

The Last Oracle by Algernon Charles Swinburne

eipate toi basilei, xamai pese daidalos aula.
ouketi PHoibos exei kaluban, ou mantida daphnen,
ou pagan laleousan . apesbeto kai lalon udor.
Years have risen and fallen in darkness or in twilight,
Ages waxed and waned that knew not thee nor thine,
While the world sought light by night and sought not thy light,
Since the sad last pilgrim left thy dark mid shrine.
Dark the shrine and dumb the fount of song thence welling,
Save for words more sad than tears of blood, that said:
Tell the king, on earth has fallen the glorious dwelling,
And the watersprings that spake are quenched and dead.
Not a cell is left the God, no roof, no cover
In his hand the prophet laurel flowers no more.
And the great king's high sad heart, thy true last lover,
Felt thine answer pierce and cleave it to the core.
And he bowed down his hopeless head
In the drift of the wild world's tide,
And dying, Thou hast conquered, he said,
Galilean; he said it, and died.
And the world that was thine and was ours
When the Graces took hands with the Hours
Grew cold as a winter wave
In the wind from a wide-mouthed grave,
As a gulf wide open to swallow
The light that the world held dear.
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!
Age on age thy mouth was mute, thy face was hidden,
And the lips and eyes that loved thee blind and dumb;
Song forsook their tongues that held thy name forbidden,
Light their eyes that saw the strange God's kingdom come.
Fire for light and hell for heaven and psalms for pæans
Filled the clearest eyes and lips most sweet of song,
When for chant of Greeks the wail of Galileans
Made the whole world moan with hymns of wrath and wrong.
Yea, not yet we see thee, father, as they saw thee,
They that worshipped when the world was theirs and thine,
They whose words had power by thine own power to draw thee
Down from heaven till earth seemed more than heaven divine.
For the shades are about us that hover
When darkness is half withdrawn
And the skirts of the dead night cover
The face of the live new dawn.
For the past is not utterly past
Though the word on its lips be the last,
And the time be gone by with its creed
When men were as beasts that bleed,
As sheep or as swine that wallow,
In the shambles of faith and of fear.
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!
Yet it may be, lord and father, could we know it,
We that love thee for our darkness shall have light
More than ever prophet hailed of old or poet
Standing crowned and robed and sovereign in thy sight.
To the likeness of one God their dreams enthralled thee,
Who wast greater than all Gods that waned and grew;
Son of God the shining son of Time they called thee,
Who wast older, O our father, than they knew.
For no thought of man made Gods to love or honour
Ere the song within the silent soul began,
Nor might earth in dream or deed take heaven upon her
Till the word was clothed with speech by lips of man.
And the word and the life wast thou,
The spirit of man and the breath;
And before thee the Gods that bow
Take life at thine hands and death.
For these are as ghosts that wane,
That are gone in an age or twain;
Harsh, merciful, passionate, pure,
They perish, but thou shalt endure;
Be their flight with the swan or the swallow,
They pass as the flight of a year.
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!
Thou the word, the light, the life, the breath, the glory,
Strong to help and heal, to lighten and to slay,
Thine is all the song of man, the world's whole story;
Not of morning and of evening is thy day.
Old and younger Gods are buried or begotten
From uprising to downsetting of thy sun,
Risen from eastward, fallen to westward and forgotten,
And their springs are many, but their end is one.
Divers births of godheads find one death appointed,
As the soul whence each was born makes room for each;
God by God goes out, discrowned and disanointed,
But the soul stands fast that gave them shape and speech.
Is the sun yet cast out of heaven?
Is the song yet cast out of man?
Life that had song for its leaven
To quicken the blood that ran
Through the veins of the songless years
More bitter and cold than tears,
Heaven that had thee for its one
Light, life, word, witness, O sun,
Are they soundless and sightless and hollow,
Without eye, without speech, without ear?
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!
Time arose and smote thee silent at his warning,
Change and darkness fell on men that fell from thee;
Dark thou satest, veiled with light, behind the morning,
Till the soul of man should lift up eyes and see.
Till the blind mute soul get speech again and eyesight,
Man may worship not the light of life within;
In his sight the stars whose fires grow dark in thy sight
Shine as sunbeams on the night of death and sin.
Time again is risen with mightier word of warning,
Change hath blown again a blast of louder breath;
Clothed with clouds and stars and dreams that melt in morning,
Lo, the Gods that ruled by grace of sin and death!
They are conquered, they break, they are stricken,
Whose might made the whole world pale;
They are dust that shall rise not or quicken
Though the world for their death's sake wail.
As a hound on a wild beast's trace,
So time has their godhead in chase;
As wolves when the hunt makes head,
They are scattered, they fly, they are fled;
They are fled beyond hail, beyond hollo,
And the cry of the chase, and the cheer.
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!
Day by day thy shadow shines in heaven beholden,
Even the sun, the shining shadow of thy face:
King, the ways of heaven before thy feet grow golden;
God, the soul of earth is kindled with thy grace.
In thy lips the speech of man whence Gods were fashioned,
In thy soul the thought that makes them and unmakes;
By thy light and heat incarnate and impassioned,
Soul to soul of man gives light for light and takes.
As they knew thy name of old time could we know it,
Healer called of sickness, slayer invoked of wrong,
Light of eyes that saw thy light, God, king, priest, poet,
Song should bring thee back to heal us with thy song.
For thy kingdom is past not away,
Nor thy power from the place thereof hurled;
Out of heaven they shall cast not the day,
They shall cast not out song from the world.
By the song and the light they give
We know thy works that they live;
With the gift thou hast given us of speech
We praise, we adore, we beseech,
We arise at thy bidding and follow,
We cry to thee, answer, appear,
O father of all of us, Paian, Apollo,
Destroyer and healer, hear!

WOW! It’s nice to see people actually talking about the Bible in a constructive way for a change, or at the least thinking. A Liberal Christian is a person that believes in more than one God, but you already know that. And how many Gods do we have? I guess it depends on a person, weather he is fleshly or spiritually minded! Let me give you a clue, if you believe in more that one God, and there is only one God, you just might make him very upset. I’m sure not going to judge, that has already been done. I feel Pete is a good person also, and I don't think anybody is actually going to a place you call HELL! I know the Bible reads that some will go to a place called Hell a little earlier than others, but it also reads that most people are simply born over and over until they overcome the flesh and become spirit. But it’s only a very few hard working souls that receive that reward. You remember the verse in John, ye must be born again, that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. If people would only try a little and read between the lines they would know these things. But you know how this ole world works, people want the easy way out. If a person is fleshly minded they let others teach them and take the easy way out, or no way at all. It’s just the way people are. I didn’t mean to say anything bad about anyone, just making a statement on what I’ve learned from the spirit view of matters. You ever read a Bible with heart, I mean like you really care about your future, and possibly the future of others around you. Wow, can you believe in a life where we live forever??? That would be awesome, and if you don’t want it, that’s ok. I suspect that if a time comes where if people stand before a maker and never took the time to find out the truth, well you can say that you did it your way! I did it my way! Ha! Sorry folks, I like everybody and hope for the best for all. But I chose to try my best to do it his way thank you. Enjoy life!
Carpenter
thats what all this is about, sharing and asking questions...i'm curious about the one god comment though...
and we've thoroughly discussed the John question...
I feel I AM in touch with the part of me which HAS been alive forever.....
and in my personal opinion, HELL is the absence of the TRUTH, Hell is all around you, Hell is not realizing you are god.... and thinking someone must save you....
I look forward to reading your posts for a while, as im not sure i fully understand your position...

I was previously ordained by another organization who had a real problem with the fact that I am a Gay man although the congregation I was serving in had no problem at all with their Gay Pastor...Needless to say the denomination defrocked me. I was ordained with ULC on June 20 96 as a means to keep my position with my congregation. Since that time, I have served several congregations as a leader bring congregations to welcoming and affirming congregations. Currently, I took a position with a Welcoming and Affirming Congregation who has Affirmed my ordination. I have served in Churches Prisons Hospitals Campus Ministries, I have performed over 300 Weddings and more Funerals than I want to remember. But God has been good to me and I hope that the people I have served are as blessed as I am in serving them.
Rev. Joey
It is inspiring that the ULC could be there for you in a time of need...

hello Moobesh.... very nice to hear from you...
I would like to make a suggestion to you....
These concepts you've been introducing yourself to are similar to any other spiritual ideas.... you will need time to digest what it all means to you...
You will need time to make the logical and intuitive leaps which will further understanding...
Never stop searching... go back to the wisdom of the messengers.... read the bible... read the koran... read the vedas... the laws of Manu, etc... whichever you feel an affinity for, for there is magic ( an expression only )in those texts... with your new found perspective things will become clearer and clearer... you will find NEW meanings, and further understanding...
These concepts you are being introduced to are just that.... you must also begin to understand how to fit it all together...
as a for instance : yes, you may override the course you set for yourself before incarnating, you may give yourself all that makes your physical incarnation the pinnacle of material manifestation.... enjoying luxuries, the opposite sex, drugs, pizza with extra cheese, etc.... if you are truly drawn to that, by all means experience that which you desire....
however if you would like an idea of the APPROPRIATE way to behave, you must seek the answer deep within... there is a part of you which is ancient.... there is a part of you which has overseen multiple lifetimes and vast ranges of experience... THIS part of you has set your course.... if you truly wish to acknowledge the being that you are, and make the choice which is APPROPRIATE - you must be reintroduced to this amazing being..... reintroduced to the YOU which is ACTIVELY living in your Father's image.... and you need look no further than the mirror... you have a direct connection to this person... you must rediscover it... Jesus ( Jmmanuel ) brought you the ability to discern this course for yourself... the age of the guru is gone... you have no need to accept anothers truth if it does not fit you... but you must understand LAW... and this will be explained to you when you are ready... you WILL begin to see it first....
Be aware that those folks who "channeled" that information, were doing so through the filter of their consciousness.... you will find no one man or woman who has all the truth... it is NOT meant to be... only the truth which can be delivered by your higher self will suit you to a " tee "...
How will this connection be made??? Meditation and introspection with the awareness that you have spirit guides who will assist, and the belief that there is no power which may keep you from yourself once you have begun to search.... however you may get impatient and give up the chase of your own accord, when what you consider sufficient time has passed with no obvious results... that is your choice... but it is nowhere near proof that it is impossible for you my friend..... a driving will and a surety of success IS THE METHOD WHICH WORKS.... seek and you shall find... but dont expect it tomorrow...
-
Pete, if you don't want to talk to me anymore I can understand..it hurts, but I can understand. As you should know, I'm working on building a Real congregation in Baltimore, and hopefully a sister branch in Brooklyn.
Ok enough about me, carry o0n...

I was just interested in how/what a person basis the Spirit of Jesus on, when they reject the scriptures which describe it? We know Christ through the written Word, and you wrote that you believe in the 'same' Spirit that was and is in Jesus? If the bible is false, then I don't understand how a person could identify a spirit as being the 'same' Spirit that dwelt in Christ? How do you define the Spirit of Christ without using the bible as a reference?
Dan let me be the first ( i would assume ) to inform you that there are other methods of introduction to the Christ Spirit... He did a GREAT thing for the souls on this planet, which is immediately apparent to some people..... no bible necessary for knowing HIM...
You can't fear something unless you believe its real. Fear of God requires faith in God.
I have NO fear of my God... HE doesn't require it... actually discourages it for our own benefit.... not healthy...
Circular logic imo. Your saying that the 'SAME' Spirit which led Jesus to show others what isn't God's Will, also show's you that the bible isn't true? If so, then you can't possibly identify your spirit and being the 'same' as Christ, since you've rejected the only tangible testimony of what Spirit led Jesus.
Personal experience.... and spiritual instruction... there is no mistake when the Spirit enters you, or you enter into spirit....
I am perfectly clear that we don't have the same ideas about things Dan, but from my perspective you are spouting off about a book, when I have personal experience to inform me..( that's definitely not meant as insult, simply how i feel, and I never phrase things that way, just showing you how i could respond as you do...).. In my opinion personal experience trumps another's word every time.... my point being -
My beliefs on the subject ARE every bit as valid as yours ( I could be rude and say " more valid ").
I understand why you believe the Bible is necessary to discover the Christ, however many folks don't feel that way...
and lastly Dan.... You may not accept it because of your beliefs... but you would benefit greatly from some historical exploration of the church which brings you these ideas.......and dan, trace you faith back to it's inception... what was the cause of the of the split from the church which spawned your particular belief????
because if i'm right - you are not Catholic.....
-
I don't think Pete has anything to worry about. The teeth on that saw are probably as dull as the person seems to be weilding it.
ok, fawzo, that made me feel guilty.....

Carpenter, I once, as a small child, agreed with you... however I have less patience with " you're going to hell " talk than i once did.... what you are spouting is dangerous, ignorant, and just plain rude... I disagree with a lot of folks on here, however except for a little dry humor and repetition, I hope I haven't actively disrespected anyone except Dattaswami...... I would have been ok with the statement had it said anything similar to " I believe "....
I would not like to be a reason for you to avoid this forum... and i could actally enjoy what you have to say... but Pete's swell folk too.....
