  1. Please pray and if your moved to write a letter, the Ugandan government is proposing a bill that is violation of human rights. I copied a alert I received and instructions to send an email to Justin R. Cannon Founder & Director Inclusive Orthodoxy, who in turn will forward them to the Church of England.

    God Bless,

    Gary

I am writing to ask you to join me in taking IMMEDIATE ACTION.

There is a bill currently before Uganda's Parliament that includes some of the harshest anti-gay regulations in the world. If the bill were to become law, doctors could be prosecuted for "aiding and abetting homosexuality." I read today anti-gay Rick Warren’s condemnation of this bill, and a statement from The Vatican (of all places!) which condemns “all forms of violence and unjust discrimination against homosexual persons, including discriminatory penal legislation which undermines the inherent dignity of the human person.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church of England have remained silent on this bill, citing “intensive and private” talks. They, however, have quite publicly spoken out against the recent consecration of the Episcopal Church’s second openly gay and partnered bishop. To speak out against a loving relationship and remain silent about this bill that could harm thousands is a moral failure.

    Let’s take action! NOW!

Join me in writing the Archbishop of Canterbury. See my letter below, write your own, then please email it or fax it to me. On Monday, I will take all these letters and mail them together to the Archbishop of Canterbury. There are over three hundred people on this Inclusive Orthodoxy mailing list. If even just 100 of us wrote letters, that would be a powerful statement. Even a short letter is better than nothing.

Join me in taking action now. Once your letter is written, email me at justincannon-at-truthsetsfree.net to fax, mail, or email it to me. Together our voices will be heard.

    Faithfully,

    Justin R. Cannon

    MY LETTER:

    The Most Reverend Rowan Williams

    Archbishop of Canterbury

    Lambeth Palace

    Your Grace:

My name is Justin Cannon and I am a postulant for the priesthood in the Episcopal Church of the United States. I am also the founder of Inclusive Orthodoxy (www.InclusiveOrthodoxy.org), an outreach ministry which asserts that in order to be faithful to the Holy Scriptures and the Gospel we must adhere to the orthodox Christian faith, as professed in the creeds and councils, while also being radically inclusive as Christ was.

I am disappointed in your silence with regard to Uganda’s pending bill against homosexuality. I was stunned to read that you have publicly criticized the loving relationship of a lesbian bishop here in the U.S., while remaining silent about this law that could damage the lives of thousands of Ugandans.

I was shocked to see today that the Vatican and anti-gay minister Rick Warren have both spoken out publicly against the Ugandan bill, while Canterbury has remained silent.

The Vatican read a statement to a United Nations panel on anti-gay violence which expressed opposition to “all grave violations of human rights against homosexual persons, such as the use of the death penalty, torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment,” as well as opposition to “all forms of violence and unjust discrimination against homosexual persons, including discriminatory penal legislation which undermines the inherent dignity of the human person.”

Rick Warren has called the bill “terrible” and explained, “The potential law is unjust, extreme and un-Christian toward homosexuals…all life, no matter how humble or broken, whether unborn or dying, is precious to God.” He also urged Ugandan pastors to publicly condemn the bill.

The only word I have heard from Canterbury is that you are in “intensive and private” talks about this matter. I hope that talks will lead to public statements at least as direct and powerful as those coming from the Vatican and Rick Warren. Anything less will not only be gravely disappointing, but a failure of Canterbury’s moral leadership.

    Sincerely,

    Justin R. Cannon

  2. That's for each person to decide. But, I do suggest that you actually inform yourself. Y2K wasn't just a hoax but a psyops TEST to see how the public will react to the coming events of major disruption. Your government has known this is coming FOR A VERY LONG TIME. Since they cannot do ONE THING about it, you can understand why CNN isn't telling you. However, if you are paying attention, we have been getting messages to help prepare us for years. Not everyone in government is a totalitarian megalomaniac or a greedy criminal banker, although that segment does seem to be the guiding factor. If you consider that they are expecting a complete disruption of our entire civilization, then you can see that perhaps everything that seems to be so totally insane has a dimension to it that has been out of sight.

Most of the Christians I know are not at all surprised by this.

Y2K was carried out by the Department of Naval Intelligence whose website was the source of the dire predictions. Interestingly enough, overall, the population of the United States did far better than expected. People quitely prepared, didn't panic and basically showed an unexpected maturity.

At the time, I was working for Johnson County Developmental Support which cares for developmentally disabled and mentally retarded folks. My company WAS fully prepared in case of a meltdown in 2000. No sweat. We all knew exactly what to do in case of a real emergency.

Actuallly, the majority of the country acted just that way. The government tends to think of the people of America as a people who are completely dependent on Uncle Sam for everything. They forget that people are CREATIVE in a variety of situations and, although all will not help their neighbors, in general we do VERY well in overall emergencies. In those cases the VERY BEST comes out in the marjority. Yes, the SELFISHNESS also manifests in some too. There are those who riot and loot. That's why the worst place to be during this is the big cities.

Think about the message you are constantly getting (for years) in DISASTER movies. The message: help your neighbors. Do not panic. Do not depend upon "authorities" but COORDINATE with those around you for rescue, medical aide, food, water and necessities.

This 2012 Nexus Event is already underway. 2012 only represents the mid-point of the convergence of our solar system with the Milky Way Ecliptic for the very first time since the creation of homo sapiens sapiens.

It is the breakdown of Earth's magnetic field that subjects us to the extreme incoming energies from the many black/white holes in the Galactic Center. Our DNA, and thus our consciousness, is being highly effected. Yes, it is a great rekoning and some will try to cling to the old while others will embrace the new. This is about TIME. Our Mother Earth's TIME-LINE is about to split into TWO TRIBUTARIES. Most have already decided which one they will be going on according to which one they are magnetically attracted to.

It is not the "end" of the world but the "end" of one time cycle and the beginning of another. Our preset dysfunctional civilization is finished completely and an ENTIRELY New Paradigm is being born. Peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. This has been prophesied not only by the Bible but by EVERY indigenous tribe on the face of the planet. We are the last to know since our culture became so disconnected from Mother Earth.

Thank you for the information, I did not know that. But it doesn't surprise me.

  3. Welcome and greetings Cyrstalrose07. I have collected quite a bit of evidence which is very informative from a scientific point of view about what is actually happening and the meaning of 2012 and the reasons for the energetic changes, both in the Earth and in our consciousness, which we are all beginning to experience.

    Convergence

I guess it depends on your faith, being a Christian, through the writings of the Bible:

    Hebrews 9:25-27 (King James Version)

    25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enter into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

2 Corinthians 5 Our Heavenly Dwelling

1Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

2Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

3because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

2 Peter 3:9-11 (New International Version)

9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.

The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.[a]

11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?

You ought to live holy and godly lives

Or it could be a bunch of non-sense like the Y2K scare.

  4. Do you believe in God testing your faith andwhere you stand on what you believe?

I do, I believe that one occurred today:

I stopped by the local boxmart to pick up a couple of things.

The total was just over $5.00, I put a $10.00 in the self paying teller.

The change came out, instead of four one dollar bills, I received four $5.00 bills.

I explained the situation to the cashier, but I was told that she couldn't do anything about.

So I left the store, filled with self satifaction.

I passed the Salvation Army beller ringer, I took out the 27 cents and put it in the kettle and kept on going.

I took 3 steps and heard a voice yell "Your going to fail the test!"

The people around me must have thought I was nuts, I spun around to see who yelled that, but there was no-one behind me. Then it gentely came to me "God just blessed you with $20.00 and you have the shameful audasity to drop a few cents in a kettle to feed the poor. So I went back and gave 25% of the blessing to the Salvation army.

As I walked away, I felt this overflowing joy, in so much I began to cry.

I just felt the need to pass this on...

  5. What is your philosophy on when you become a senior? 50? 55? 60? 65? or other? Do you look forward to senior discounts or are you horrified by qualifying for them?

According to AARP, I'll be senior in January, when I turn 50.

But there's days I feel like 19 and others like 80.

So live your life like there's no age and live, love and be happy.

  6. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

May all the prayers listed here be answered in a positive way..Amen

    Prayers for an elderly saint

Lillith, she is is in the hospital, due to a bad mix of medication

I ask for a prayer in agreement that she recovers and continues to be the bright spirit she is.

She was born in the year 1918, she's a real firecracker when she's up to snuff.

    Amen.

  7. This morning I had planned to attend the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, TN. I live in North Carolina and because I have had some complications from a recent surgery, my husband was concerned about the long drive. I decided it would be best to stay home today.

A few hours later (after going back to sleep), I got an email from a church member asking if anyone knew what was going on at church. Since then I found out that a man entered the church with a guitar case, pulled out a shotgun, and shot 6 people. It happened during the much-anticipated children's production of "Annie." One of the injured died at the hospital.

Please lift up the victims, their families, the traumatized witnesses, and the church.

Thank you all for your support.

    Dear God!

I will hold them in my prayers, that church is my family's home town.

Let us know if there's anything they need.

  8. I am currently in what I would call an unhealthy relationship. I love this man dearly, and I would think he was "The One" except for a major issue that he chooses not to resolve. I do honestly believe he loves me, but obviously not enough to do what is necessary for our relationship to thrive. (Note the italics above--this is indeed a conscious choice that he absolutely has 100% control of and responsibility for; he just WON'T DO IT. There are no outside factors, no extenuating circumstances, etc.)

To be honest, I'm not sure what to pray for myself--for him to resolve this issue, or me to gather the courage to walk away. I guess I just need prayer that the Great Spirit will push one of us in the direction we need to go--whichever outcome is best for our Highest Good. I have never in my life known love like this man has shown me. But I'm getting very tired and discouraged; as much as I love him and would hate to let him go, this issue is fast becoming a deal-breaker for me.

    Peace and Blessings,

    Suzy

I pray for both of you, him to get his life together, for you to have the strength do what must be done, it sounds that your to the point that you know what to do, but you can't do it.

The Great Spirit isn't the author of confusion or pain. So I pray that God intervenes, helps you with strength and conviction your decision. And that God helps him to find his way in his life. Amen.

  9. Last Friday evening, I had the pleasure of officiating at my daughter's wedding in Laguna Beach, CA.

When she asked me to perform the ceremony back in January, I just couldn't understand how that could be possible..

Thanks to ULC and a long conversation with the Orange County Clerks office, I stood in a canyon before about a hundred friends and family members and asked for blessings for my sweet daughter and her new husband. It was positively magical...

The prayers we gathered, "Prayer to the Four Winds" and the Apache Wedding Blessing made this ceremony so personal and heartfelt, like I said, magical. (a Red Tailed Hawk even showed up earlier in the day)

    I am honored. Thank You.

It sounds beautiful! The Native American ceremonies are beautiful & honest.

May their lives be full of many blessings.

Both sides of my family are of Cherokee heritage (Smoky Mountain region), I would love to learn some of their prayers & blessings. I've always felt a pull to that side of my family.

  10. This topic is for people who want to share why they've become an ordained minister. (Linked from the October 2005 ULC Online Newsletter)

We can start here. Maybe we'll learn a little something about each other that was previously unknown.

As a child, I received Jesus Christ as my Lord & Savior, I was raised in a family in the Southern Baptists & Pentacostla churches. I was the hell raiser when I was young, had to be God & Mom's prayers, that I made it through my teenager years, alive.

I could never understand the thinking: Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Then in another breath they would curse someone because of the color or because they're in love with someone of the same sex, but Jesus died for all of mankind's sins.

I turned my back on Jesus for a while, what kind of loving God would act like that, until it got through my skull, it wasn't God saying that, it was ignorant people who uses God name to push their agendas.

Which leads me to being a ordained minister:

I am Gay, I've seen friends die or be in the hospital, and the person they have shared their lives with couldn't visit them, because they weren't married or in a Holy Union. I believe Jesus Christ has been with me, through my life, to get me to this point to be a minister, to do Holy Unions & Weddings for my family in the Gay community, a calling to do so.

We shall see, as I told the church when I bacame ordained, I won't put a price on God or a persons spirituallity.

I'll never charge a cent to see that anyone of legal age and is allowed to marry, gets married.

Life is too short to not be with the one you love.

As it's written in the book of Matthew 22: 36-40 Jesus gave us two commandments, to love God the Father with all of our hearts, and love you neighbor, as you would love yourself. When you do this, you have fulfilled the other commandments.

    That's the story...
