  1. Question.

Would a loving God ever reject people who love?

Well depends on what kind of love he exhibited. In the Greek we have Phileo (brotherly love), Eros (erotic love) and Agape (selfless love).

If we anthropomorphisize human love onto him anything is possible.

If he is a God of agape love, as I believe, then your answer is no. He couldn't and wouldn't even reject those who hate, murder and even torture others.

  2. Thanks. I enjoyed the story.

Now I'm wondering what character I play in it

Insults are like bad gifts someone tries to hand you. If you accept them and make them yours you will be the one who experiences the effects. But if you are

wise enough to say. 'No thank you, you can keep your gift" it can't have any effect on you.

  3. 4. The mind - the brain consists of many millions of patterns of behavior both chemical and electrical and these patterns resemble algorithms

You're not equating the mind and the brain as the same thing in this statement are you?

The rest I will ponder tomorrow at work.

  4. I have always been into science and logic, but my path, of late, has taken a rather strange twist.

Recently, a friend of mine asked me if I believed in God. I replied that I could not possibly answer that question in a manner he could understand. He pressed me - "Well, try me" he said ...

"Okay!" I said "No, but I know where it is and I know how it creates reality."

I explained further that the "how" is not method but cause - and that I hesitate to go any further because it requires that I say things that won't make immediate sense - that conjur up notions of magical thinking, schizophrenia and temporal lobe epilepsy, but not because of anything I might actually say - but the words and phrases that I must use -even appropriately- that have been dragged through the mud.

Paradigm - there's a magic word - your paradigm is your perception of reality and truth - quite appart from mine - and even covers the language that you use to explain how you see it all. To quote R. D. Laing: "what is evident to you is not evident to me" (and vice-versa)

So -- the words that I must use to explain my epiphany will trip all of the triggers in your paradigm - so that you will not be able to hear a word that I say amidst the cacophonous echoes from within your own paradigm - not mine.

The funny thing - as here I sit trapped with [what I perceive to be] such an important message and the system is, apparently, pre-wired to spurn it.

So - I don't believe in God but I know where it is -- how does that work?

Well, the "one true God" is real but being "everywhere" is not entirely accurate. The immediate problem is that the word itself conjures up ideas of a magical being - even amongst [us] atheists - and that is so far from accurate it isn't funny.

But - here's the thing: with what we know about matter and energy - the probability that some combination of materials under certain serviceable conditions would produce life is impossible. But here we are. Life is impossible but unmistakably real. Conscious minds are impossible but unmistakably real. And I might even suggest that evolution is just as impossible and just as unmistakably real.

Conversely - the rotting of fruit, that water flows down hill, that systems wind down into disorder - there is the highest probability and extremely logical behavior that we can measure and understand. Science can explain entrope but can only describe and catalog its opposite.

So - welcome to the fourth dimension - your inner eye naturally looks "down" - entropically - and watches life, evolution and mind run off in the opposite direction - we debate and dismiss these things in different ways, but if you want to see God and how it creates reality - you really need to turn your inner eye in the opposite direction.

Chances are - as is the nature of the system - you have already spurned the construct despite half-seeing it.

    Nice post!

Is the inner eye obscured on purpose or was it accidental , shall we say the original fall from grace. Is anything accidental for that matter?

  5. The following quotes I've chosen to represent my belief that (Christ, Buddha, insert favorite deity here) consciouness is already inside us all and it is

only our ignorance of this fact and our identification with the egoic self that keeps us from realizing and acting as such.

And before anyone gets their panties all twisted in a knot, I know there are probably 6 gawdzillion scriptures to contradict this. Just maybe because they were written by someones egoic self.

I would also like to see any other verses by other faith's scripture that correspond with the following:

    Various Biblical statements

...that ye have put off the old man with his doings, 10 and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

    Col 3:9-11 (ASV)

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.Matt 5:47-48 (KJV)

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within

    Luke 17:20-21 (KJV)

    Gospel of Thomas

3rd verse Jesus said: If those who lead you say to you: See, the kingdom is in heaven, then the birds of the heaven will go before you; if they say to you: It is in the sea, then the fish will go before you. But the kingdom is within you, and it is outside of you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will know that you are the sons of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you are in poverty, and you are poverty.

77th verse Jesus says: "I am the light which is on them all. I am the All, and the All has gone out from me and the All has come back to me. Cleave the wood: I am there; lift the stone and thou shalt find me there!" 83rd verse. Jesus says: "Images are visible to man, but the light which is in them is hidden. In the image of the light of the Father, it <this light> will be revealed, and his image will be veiled by his light."

    Gospel of Mary Magdelene

Page 8 verse 15-22 Be vigilant, and allow no one to mislead you by saying "Here its is!" or 'There it is!" For it is within you that the Son of Man dwells.

Go to him, for those who seek him, find him.

    A special thanks to tannhaus!

But since you've got a great name, and had Vanna White on your lap, I'll do ya a favor just between us guys! Nipplestein, I'm going to give you the most amazingly fantastic........"

  7. Summerland. It's a place where our souls go until the time of reincarnation. Im just gonna put this little disclaimer out here though: These are my beliefs and not necessarily those of other Wiccans.

Oh and back to the tool thing for a sec. My first wand was a gift from a friend. My first stone necklace was a gift from my father. So even though I do not use tools for all rituals, I like to have these items for stronger workings because these tools to me are very special because they were gifts of love....

I understand where you're coming from. I don't leave the house without my piece of sugilite around my neck and a piece of chrysoprase in my key pocket.

I would feel totally naked without them.

    What stone was your necklace?

  8. My soul once danced among the stars

where love is all you need.

And there they met my soul and yours

    and hope began to breed.

And Oh a light began to shine,

    the likes heaven rarely sees.

My love for you grew bright and strong,

    but it was only me.

    I screamed I danced I laughed I cried,

I got down on my knees.

I prayed to God that you'd be mine,

    He gave no gurantees.

So now my soul shines all alone,

My heart lost in a dream.

My soulmate gone and darkness reigns,

    Just wishing on moonbeams.

  9. The tools are more like symbols for your mind to focus on. I hate to use this but this is all I can think of right now: Aversion therapy. They did a study on aversion therapy using a toddler and a white rat (some say rabbit). Everytime they showed baby "albert" the animal they'd make a loud noise behind his head. What they didn't anticipate was that anything fluffy and white (including the mall santa's beard) freaked "albert" out after the experiments were concluded.

When tools are used in ritual it is more to "prep" the mind for serious meditation and magic(k)al workings. When people wear certain jewelry or clothes in ritual it's the same concept. Getting your mind ready to focus. Kind of like a lucky blouse for a job interview or a lucky sock for the big game. That's the best way I can explain it. Do you understand what I mean? (not looking down on you but making sure I'm being clear in what Im writing)

    Thanks Rev.Fred

I already understood that the tools were just focal points to help bring your mind to a singular point of consciousness where its easier to jump the gap.

I use to be a big rock and mineral guy who used all of Melody's master number minerals to meditate with. Then I learned to bypass them and just use my mind.

Trying not to be ignorant but the only example I can think of is riding a bike. When you start you need the training wheels but once you master it

you throw those suckers in the garage and drive like a bat out of hell.

Crutches are usefull until they are no longer needed. This is how I see all forms of religious belief. They help the seeker until the seeker is able to stand on his own two feet and follow his own path.

May your path be filled with health, love and happiness!

  10. I am Wiccan. I really don't feel the ego factor on it. It's not so much about stronger as the ablility to use it responsibly and have control over it. I'm very big on respect to my elders. They have the life experience to back what they say up. If an elder has something worth merit to say I'm all ears. I understand the level of degrees because in Wicca, unfortunately, you get alot of young teenagers that come in and play the "I'm enlightened, more mature than you, I know everything, etc." attitude and with the degrees, it puts that to a stop, very quickly. Magic(k) can be a very powerful thing and you wouldn't want it to be in untrained hands. Would you give a gun to a rookie cop and say have at it? Would you give a fresh out of college doctor a delicate brain surgery to perform even though the biggest "surgery" he's done to date was a few stitches to a finger?

    Thanks for the reply.

I have another question, if you don't mind?

What effect if any will the recent findings in quantum physics that basically mind equals matter and is non-local. The perceivers effect upon all that he sees and the interconnetedness of all things, have within the Wiccan community

Isn't it starting to look as if magick is just a tool for focus and that what basically is happening with spells and such are just the effects of natural laws of the universe?

    Brightest Blessings!

  11. I have a question concerning Wicca.

I love Wiccan people dearly. Pretty eccletic bunch, the ones I know

I always assumed it was a tradition steeped in ego. If one person's magick could be stronger than someone elses than it

must not be based in truth. I hypothesize.

This weekend I was in a gathering of Wiccan folks and I heard a few of them talking about how many Wiccans literally go insane before reaching the second degree. This only reinforced my beliefs about the ego factor.

    Any thoughts or comments.

I took a class in Wicca but it wasn't right for me and I left after 6 weeks.

I noticed too that the ULC creed might as well be the Wiccan creed. I wish more pagans would jump into the fiery debates about christianity here :)

    Brightest Blessings!

  12. Another rare white buffalo has been born to the same farm in Wisconsin. A prophesy and sign to natives.

I'm happy you're happy but it seems as if its a genetic trait having them born so close together in the same locale. Now if one of those lovely creatures comes out purple or blue THATS A SIGN!

    Brightest Blessings!
