The following is a link to a post I made, dear me, in 2005, when I was but a young admin:
http://ulc.net/forum...l-beliefs-much/
In it, I made a general statement taking people to task about refusing to be civil to each other.
It seems to me that it's time to make a similar statement now. Things have escalated to a point where, frankly, I'm not comfortable with the atmosphere here.
I considered shutting the board down for a few days to give people the chance to cool off. I considered removal of people that were the worst of the offenders.
However, I decided that it would be more prudent to give people a chance to calm down and start treating others in a more respectful tone.
I am NOT interested in "well he said" or "well she said." Bluntly, I don't care. At this point the bickering has boiled over so much there's no telling who started it. "He did!" "No, she did!" (I'll say it for you.)
It doesn't matter who starts it. I will finish it if it continues, and I'll finish it by suspensions and banishment.
This isn't a democracy. This isn't a "aw, that's not fair" thing. If you continue to force my hand I will have to take action.
This goes for EVERYONE. If you can't handle discussion with a certain person, put them on your ignore list. You don't HAVE to interact with everyone here.
Consider this a final warning. I haven't had to clean house in a long time. I hope I don't have to take that action now. But if this unpleasantness continues, I will remove posts, topics, and members, as I see fit.
Think about what you're writing before you post: If you think it's gonna piss someone off, on a personal level, DON'T POST IT. Either reword the post, or delete it and go to another topic. Whichever works best.
